The Rain Forests of the Sea from Julia Wall on Vimeo.

Millions of purple sea urchins are ravaging more than 150 acres of historically healthy kelp forests in the shallow seafloor off the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Southern California. The Santa Monica Bay Restoration Foundation has set out to selectively reduce the urchin population in order to allow for the kelp forests to re-grow and provide a safe haven for many marine species.
